Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are working with a well known house builder to find an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them and help deliver 100+ bespoke homes in Gloucestershire. The company have numerous sites across the UK and their company culture enables them to employ and retain the best possible candidates. The site has 60 units left on this phase and over 60 on the next, which is due to start in 2021, and the Senior Quantity Surveyor will help to lead the Commercial team to deliver the scheme on time and budget.

 

Key accountabilities:

• Manages Commercial performance to achieve the companies Commercial strategy and objectives across projects  

• Complete training and personal development to enhance current and potential future role capability

• Produce accurate CVRs. Demonstrate that Risk and Opportunity / Profit Improvement Plans are being accurately reported and that mitigation / optimisation plans are being achieved across their projects

• Deliver procurement within budget and on time across projects

• Manage all commercial, legal, financial and administrative responsibilities with suppliers and contractors across projects effectively

• Manage the supply chain to ensure and demonstrate fair payments are processed on or before cut off dates for all projects

• Work with the Site Manager /Project Manager ensuring WIP controls across all Projects

• Fully understand and manage their cost allowances across all Projects, and ensure cost management against the same Works collaboratively with Project / Site Managers, Technical Managers and Sales Consultants

• Monitor, control and implement sales additions across projects

• Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts for review with Managing QS

• Contributes with the Project teams to the fair scoring of the supply chain every month

• Manages recoverable and non-recoverable variations, formally instructing the supply chain at fair rates and prices. Delivers the Profit Improvement Plan

• Promote and lives the values of the company at all times and help to develop junior members of the team.  

• Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant Group Policies and Procedures, Legislation and Regulations. To develop and ensure safe working practices

 

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years post-graduate experience in the relevant Commercial area, preferably with a contractor or housebuilder

• Higher education industry discipline relevant qualification

• A track record in delivering excellent Commercial results over a number of Projects

• Strong commercial and technical skills

• Professional network

• Excellent communication skills

• Full valid driving licence

• Able to successfully manage the performance of small sized teams (up to 6)
