Head of Facilities Management

£40000 + Car Allowance + benefits

Milton Keynes 


I am currently working with a leader in the provision of FM Services to recruit an experienced facilities manager with a strong background in the delivery of soft & hard services.  


The role:

  • Head of facilities management for a leading FM service Provider
  • Static site in Milton Keynes providing soft and hard services
  • Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology and so on
  • Maintaining and facilitating of utilities and office equipment
  • Managing maintenance, mail, and archiving services for the business
  • Managing cleaning, waste disposal and recycling within the business
  • Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance, grounds and security
  • Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are well-maintained
  • Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness
  • Allocating and managing space between buildings
  • Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
  • Key point of contact for all health and safety issues or concerns
  • Ensuring all H&S training is complete and up to date with key members of staff including fire marshal training and first aid training
  • Advising businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments
  • Helping businesses to relocate to new offices and to make decisions about leasing
  • Drafting reports and making written recommendations

The Candidate:


  • Experience within a similar role with strong FM service provider background
  • Extensive experience in managing the delivery of a cleaning operation
  • Team management experience across multiple sites
  • BICS or any other relevant cleaning qualifications desirable
  • Experience with client relationship management a must
  • Strong and effective communication skills and relevant people management skills
  • Flexibility to work out of hours
  • Forward thinking
  • Strong P&L experience
  • Experience on a large footfall/multiple site a huge advantage
  • Dynamic and organised and enthusiastic
  • Full UK driving License
  • Lives in Milton Keynes area
