Boden Resource are recruiting an Engineering Officer for a Global FM service provider on a Large Healthcare site based in Dartford.


Reporting into the Engineering Managers and supporting the Estates teams, you will be responsible for the planning, management and delivery of day to day, strategic maintenance and plant replacement of Electrical and Mechanical equipment installed and utilised throughout the estate. In the role you will supporting the Engineering Manager (Mechanical) in the effective running of the Estates and Maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review maintenance procedures for plant and equipment, ensuring high standards and minimising unavailability
  • Participates in the preparation of the planned programme identifying plant/service which may compromise service delivery
  • Prepares specifications for minor works and updates drawings
  • Prepare specification for maintenance and equipment / plant replacement as identified in the annual programme
  • Develop and test contingency plans for mechanical services
  • Prepares plant and equipment for statutory inspections
  • Manages water treatment programme for LTHW and chilled water systems
  • Technical and managerial support in the delivery of post and predesign evaluation on site supervision and commission elements of capital schemes
  • Member of the fire team 
  • Deputise for Engineering Manager
  • Liaise with Engineering Officer (electrical)


Skills and Experience

  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Water Management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering maintenance with supervisory capacity
  • Time served in a mechanical area
  • Computer literate and be able to produce statistical graphs for analysis
  • Management experience
  • A good knowledge of Health & Safety within a hospital environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of statutory legislation
